Special Events
While there is never a dull moment at Disney World, Mickey and friends do their best to make sure there are lots of special events going on at Disney World throughout the year.
For the athletes out there, consider one of the many runDisney events – from Family Fun Runs to a full marathon there is a race for all levels – from beginners to veterans. If you would rather watch the action than be a part of it – try a visit to Disney World in March and head over to the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex (at Disney) and take in an Atlanta Braves spring training practice.
Gardeners, DIYers, and others will appreciate the beauty of the Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival. This event is included with Epcot park admission and runs March through May. Enjoy dazzling Disney topiaries, take seminars from the stars of HGTV, and marvel in the beauty of the blooms!
Epcot also hosts the International Food and Wine Festival every October. Journey “around the World (Showcase)” and sample food and beverages from other countries at kiosks located throughout the World Showcase. Celebrity chefs and master sommeliers are usually on hand for special celebrity chef dinners and wine dinners or seminars on everything from brewing beer to cheese from around the world.
Maybe a special evening of trick or treating at the Magic Kingdom or sipping hot cocoa as it snow on Main Street USA for Christmas sounds appealing? Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party and Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party are separately priced events that allows these dreams and many more to come true.
