Throwback Thursday: Dinosaurs Live!

The cast of Dinosaurs got their own parade in 1991

On April 26, 1991 the world was introduced to the Sinclair family on Dinosaurs! a sitcom on ABC about a family of dinosaurs. Even people who didn’t watch the show knew Baby Sinclair’s famous line, “Not the mama!” But did you know that from September 26, 1991 until August 29, 1992 the members of the Sinclair family were the “Guests of Extinction” at the Dinosaurs Live! show at Disney-MGM Studios? That’s right, once upon a time there was a mini-parade that went up Hollywood Boulevard and stopped in front of The Great Movie Ride. The parade and show featured the wise-cracking but lovable dinosaurs of the Sinclair family, dancers, and singers. The featured song was “Walk the Dinosaur” by Was (Not Was). The live show only lasted about a year, but the TV series would go on until 1994.
