Ask Mel Wednesday: Is my child too young for Disney?
Question: I am afraid my child is too young for Disney. I don’t know if they will remember or enjoy it. How young is too young for Disney?
Answer: The answer is actually a question. At what age are you, as the parent, comfortable taking your child to Disney? If you aren’t comfortable with the idea, it probably isn’t the right time for your family to take a Disney trip. If you are just unsure, here is some information to ease your mind. Disney is very accommodating for families with small children. Every restroom, men’s and women’s, has a changing table. There is a Baby Care Center in each of the parks. And there are many shows and attractions that they can ride and experience. There are even some that are aimed specifically at the toddler crowd. Here is a more in-depth look at taking your child to Disney and some tips for making it a fun experience for all.
There is a good chance that they will not remember their trip but that certainly doesn’t mean that they won’t enjoy it. Disney is filled with bright colors, happy music, and fun characters. With them smiling, laughing, and enjoying you can create wonderful memories (and pictures) to share with them about their early trips to Disney. Sometimes traveling with a small child to Disney can help adults remember a very important lesson, to live in the moment and appreciate what is going on around you. If you are ready, chances are that your children are too.
